The Power

In the novel, Lord of the flies, by William Golding, a plane full of kids crashes into an island. The kids are left to survive without any adult supervision. So they need to create rules among themselves and have a leader. One of their leaders is named Jack. Jack is a dictator like Adolf Hitler. Jack and Hitler both Limit free speech, manipulate others to keep their power, and use violence to keep their power.

Jack and Hitler both limit free speech. In 1929, “Hitler chose Josef Gobbles as his Minister of propaganda” (2) Hitler could be in charge. In the novel Golding writes “You’re talking too much said Jack Merridew. Shut up fatty.” (1) Jack didn’t want anyone speaking. He only wanted to hear his voice. Both leaders only wanted their voices to be heard and limited the voices of others.

Both Jack and Hitler manipulated others. The History Learning site states that “Gobbles had two main tasks to ensure nobody in Germany could read or see anything that was hostile or damaging to the Nazi Party. To ensure that the views of the Nazi were Pat across in the most previse manner possible.”(3) The films had everyone believing in the Nazis. Golding writes “I painted my face I stole up. Now you eat all of you”(1) Jack is taking away Ralphs power by feeding the boys. He controls them with food. Both Hitler and Jack used power to manipulate people.

Both Jack and Hitler used violence to keep their power. The holocaust learning site states that “in 1938 100 Jews were murdered and there was also nights of extreme violence Jews.” (4) This made Hitler and the Nazi party real powerful because they were getting rid of the Jews. “You don’t know Roger. He’s a terror.” “And the Chief they’re both.”(1) Jack made the kids have fear so he can keep his power.

Jack and Hitler both used violence to cause fear and maintain power. Both of them were bad dictators and both manipulated people to get what they want. Both Jack and Hitler got what they wanted from the people.

Childhood memory

I was chilling with my cousin Hector in my front yard. It smelled like fireworks and smoke because it was the Fourth of July. It was already dark it was around 10. I was feeling pretty good at the moment. It was hot so I was wearing shorts and a shirt. We were just chilling lighting up fireworks and eating BBQ. We were also hearing music and riding our bikes on the middle of the street. Then my other cousin Raul came with more fireworks. We made bottle rockets with the fireworks Raul had brought. We were shooting the bottle rockets into the air. After that we went inside to watch the Mexico game because Mexico was playing that day. We were just watching the game and eating chips. After the match we played some FIFA for some money on my PlayStation. We also played some call of duty. After we had done everything we went back outside to light the rest of the fireworks. After we were done with the fireworks we went to the beach with my cousin hectors friend. He had some better fireworks that we had to use them up in the open. He told us he had got them from his older brother who worked in Las Vegas. He said he got all of them for free and everything was worth around 300$. So I was pretty excited to see how they would work. First he led up some little bottle rockets they went up really fast and high they had a big explosion. That’s why I think he had to light them up on the open. For a while we were just chilling listening to some music in Raul’s beat box. It was around 12 when we started to light the rest of the fireworks up.

Reflection

Before this unit I knew China had the most people in the world. I think its a pretty bad country because you cant even drive when you want to. I wouldn't consider visiting It due to the fact that there's to much people, and its usually crowded everywhere. I also don't like the food they eat. Another reason is that I also don't speak Chinese.
I wouldn't try the prezi it seems to complicated. I enjoyed working with PowerPoint. It was nice and easy working with easy bib. I would have changed some of the backgrounds to some china flag. I would have also wrote my sentences a little different.
